Mary

The Latin words on Mary's right; MARIA SINE LABIA CONCEPTA translate to MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN.... THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION.

The words on Mary's Left.... ORA PRO NOBIS means PRAY FOR US. These words are topped by Lilies, a symbol of purity.

Our Lady of Lourdes

Mary is robed in white with a blue sash, as she appeared to Bernadette at Lourdes in 1858. When asked her name, Mary answered "I AM THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION" and this just 4 years after the Dogma was declared

The Latin on Mary's right translates to mean AND SHE WILL CRUSH YOUR HEAD, a reference to Jesus in Genesis 3:15. Mary is standing on the snake....THE DEVIL.

The significance of the roses on Mary's left is not known.

St. Joseph

Note the Saw, Hammer, and Square these are tools of his work as a Carpenter.

There is a tradition that when Mary was choosing a Husband, the Staff of Joseph bloomed with Lilies and she chose him.

Blessed Mother and The Child

The Dove on Mary's right is a symbol of the Holy Spirit reminding us of the annunciation when the Angel told Mary "The Holy Spirit will Come Upon You".

The hand in the triangle on her left is reminiscent of the finder of the creator touching the finger of Jesus as shown in the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

Crowning of Mary by Jesus as Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Note the Crown, the Sceptre and the Lilies.

The other panel shows a glamorized "M" for Mary.

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

This Saint received an Apparition of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Established through her efforts was the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and the devotion of 9 First Fridays.

Her Feast Day is October 16th.

The figure has wounds in the hands and feet
Banner of Victory over Christ's head.

On his right the three letters.... I H S which are the 1st three letters in Greek for Jes(us).

On his left the CHI ROW meaning Peace. There is the symbol of the fish, a sign used by the early Christians to recognize one another.

In Greek fish is ICTHUS and these letters mean;
      IC = Jesus Christ
      TH = Theos = GOD
      US = Universalitatis Salvator = Saviour of the World.

The Good Shepherd

The panel on his right "ECCLESIA" means Church it is the BARQUE of Peter. On his left are the Crossed Keys of the Kingdom.... "I GIVE YOU THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM".... Mt. 16 - 19.

The three tiered crown of the Pope, which is expressive of the triple office of Teacher, Priest, and Pastor. It is also taken to mean his Temporal, Spiritual, and Purgatorial authority.

Jesus and the Children

LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME.

The "A" and the "U" in the side panels stand for Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. They remind us that Jesus is the beginning and the end.

GO IN PEACE AND BE THOU HEALED.

The Lame, the Sick, and the Poor are brought to Jesus.

The Dove overhead reminds one of the Dove that appeared when Jesus was baptized by John.
